I know corn snakes don't require UV or any special lighting but I want to put lighting in the wooden vivarium (for my viewing pleasure). What kind of bulb should I use (that won't burn the snake)?
I use a full spectrum light for lighting my Green tree pythons cage. It really brings out colors and it's cool. It's the same light that's used in aquariums.
Flourescent lights don't put out much heat. Either way, I would recommend a screen of some sort over the light so the snake can't come into contact with it.
Meg's recommendation of a full spectrum or daylight bulb is spot on. They really do bring out the colors of your snake.
