6 weeks with no food... :(

I'm really worried about my corn snake. He hasn't eaten since March 16th. He shed right after that. About 3 days ago he shed again and still hasn't eaten. He's gone poo a few times since then, mostly liquid, a little bit of solid a couple times. I used to feed him 2 large white frozen mice (2in not including tail) a week, then I switched to 1 tiny rat a couple weeks before he stopped eating. I tried switching back to the mice since they're smaller but it didn't help. I brained them with no results. I even tried a live mouse to entice him and got no interest from it. I try to feed him once a week. He spends most of the time when he's awake trying to get out of his cage, he seems pretty active. He's about 5' long and 4-5 years old.

Please help,
Adam

I agree. Males tend to go off food for extended periods. Mine just started back after 2 months and he stopped for 3 months last year.

Whew. I've read some of the other posts in the forum about this. I'm glad he's ok with this. It's still kind of nerve wrecking though when you're used to most things eating every so often.
Thanks for the relief,
Adam

Arg, wrote a whole post and lost it... well...
WOOHOO, he ate!!! Finally. I was holding him and just showing him the live mouse. I didn't think he was close enough. He snapped it out of my hand and strangled it in mid air. He was holding on to me with his tail. I detangled my hand from him and put him down right away and let him enjoy his meal. He snapped at its rear leg and once it was dead ate him tail first. That's the first time I've seen him go tail first. It was kind of creepy watching the mouses head slowly disappear into his mouth with it's eyes looking like they were going to pop out. YAY, he ate!
