i have just bought a larger tank for my corn and i have just set up everything i want apart from i want to make a platform to go in it so she can climb onto it etc. i was thinkin of using 2-3 loo roll tubes and some card placed on top for the actual platform bit, does it matter what glue i use as i was wondering about fumes etc? also i was going to cover the whole thing in chippings to make it look more appealing.

would appreciate some :) advice please

Well a hot glue gun I guess would work. Some one on here made some home made decroations using crazy glue and they let it dry for i think a week, correct me if i'm wrong. lol

As long as you let it dry completely so that there are no fumes, silicone should be fine. I would make sure it is indeed aquarium grade, just to be sure.

Your not the first one to state this but I know understand why It has to be aquarium grade. It's not being use as one anymore. Some folks have stated that it should be seal with it. :shrugs: What .... to hold water????
But anyway shawtay88, Sounds like your going to use cardboard tubes???, keep in mine that the snake will someday crap on this and your will have to clean it or replace it. And hot glue will do for this job.

How about just using some PVA glue, it's perfect for card. I'm sure you don't need to use silicon just for a bit of card?

ok so i have just glued the legs to my platform with a glue gun i was told this was safe by a fellow reptile keeper. i now want to cover it in something to make it in keeping with tank theme, i.e. bark, chippings, to make it look nice? should i still use the glue gun or would pva glue be ok? i will post some pics of the working progress lol :)
