And when you figure it out, let me know 'cause I'm not sure what it is either.

It could be a Hypo Blood that is just one of those late color bloomers. Or a Lavender Blood, but I've never hatched a Lav with color like this. :shrugs:

First off are some pics of it next to a Hypo and Hypo Blood sibling. (And a headless Lav running through the pic)

Then two different shots on two different backgrounds and a belly pic. Sorry the "jeans" pic turned out so dizzying. Yes, I have noticed the little bit of cord still attached but I don't want to do anything until I have an extra pair of hands to help me. It will probably fix itself by tonight anyway.

I guess I should have added that the parents are het Hypo, Lav, and Blood. :) Although, maybe that's obvious by looking at the siblings.

I'll hold off guessing until it sheds... :sidestep:

But I think I'm seeing a ruby pupil. Is that just the flash or is it like that in normal lighting?

Ya, I noticed when the flash went of that it had "rubyish" eyes. Not as extreme as others, but they do glow when the light hits them right. I haven't bothered it enough to figure sex, but going off of looks I'd say female.

I would say a Hypo Blood Lav! Hmmm but I think once it starts eating you should send it down to me for a better look ;)

I can only assume she's a keeper, regardless ...eh?

Beautiful animal though, and should you decide to part with her, please do let me know.

Trevor

Yep, most likely she's a keeper. Even in shed, it's hard to buy that she's just a Hypo Blood. Then again, it's not what I expected a Lav Blood to look like. We will see. I can't wait to see what comes out of the other clutches from this project, so far the Lavs have been awesome!

Well, given the parents and the ruby eye, my guess is hypo lav blood too.

I'm thinking hypo blood. The more I look at that, the more I think there's no way it could be a lavender.

Did they shed yet? :grin01:

Nope, no shed yet. I do have to say that all the Lavs in this clutch have color like I've never seen on a Lav, but this one takes the cake. It seems to have a pink overwash that the other Hypo Blood does not have. I've seen some "mocha like" Lavs look kind of like that. I still really have no idea what is is, I'm just hoping. :shrugs: Just for grins, here is the pic of a Lav sibling, who I also can't wait to shed. He is due in a day or two, I just peeked at him today and he is flat out, pink and purple. :crazy02:

Alright here are some post shed pics. Some pics in with Lavs, some pics in with Hypos, some pics in with both. I don't think it looks like a Hypo Blood, but it doesn't look like what I'd imagine in a Lav Blood or Hypo Lav Blood. :shrugs: It may be awhile to know this one for sure. For now it can just be a blood.

post picture

can you post a side by side picture of your lavenderbloodred next to the expected one? that would make a good comparison shot!

I'll try that once it settles down and starts eating. ;)
