OK is it ok if my snake is cold and doesn't want to go to the warm side. My temp thing doesn't work so I don't know what temp it is in the cage.
there is heat so wouldn't the snake light to warm up.
The first time I hold it it was warm and was moving aroung through my fingers.
the last time I held it. the snake what cold and mostly just clured up in a ball. I did start to move after I held for a while. I think it warmed up a little.
is this ok?
There is a hide on the warm side but it might not be as secure as the snake might want. But it could just go under the newspaper (I'm getting a better substrate soon) to get warmed up like it did before.
Also I'm feeding it today and don't want it to be cold for it. But is has heat.
Well, sorry if this is stupid.
One more thing how do you raise the humidly

Yes, that's fine.

Even a snake that's warm may feel cold to our touch - remember we are quite warm really.

So long as there are hides at both the warm and cool sides, the snake will make his own mind up. If there is no good hide, amke a temporary one out of a toilet roll tube or something.

Snakes need to be at different temperatures to do different things (i.e. warm to digest food).

I wouldn't worry - mine seems to spend ages on the warm side, then ages on the cool side - I guess he knows best!

If you feed him he'll probably go under the hide on the warm side to digest his food (at least he should do)

A simple way to raise the humidity is to put another water bowl in the viv, put but in on the warm side. In the UK the humidity is normally OK (except maybe for shedding times) - dunno about US.

HTH

Your snake should know best...if he is very cold he will try to find warmth if he wants it. Mine always seem cold but I guess they go to warm up when I'm not around!
