M/F Sex comparison tail pics

carol

Down with the sickness
These are not easy to get! It is almost a three person job. Here is a tail comparison pic with two adults.
MALE=TOP
FEMALE=BOTTOM

And here is two yearling bloodreds. This time it is reversed.
FEMALE=TOP
MALE=BOTTOM
Funny I found an interesting way of sexing corns, but I guess it depends on the camera. I found I can get a pic of a females tail from about 1-2 feet away, but if I have to fit a male's tail in the pic, I have to go more that 2 feet away to get the whole thing in the pic. :D It seems pretty consistant around here. Only works on yearling and older.

Very nice tails!!

but whats the question?????

Kool....but put them in the photo gallery!:rolleyes:

and Thanks Carol for the cool pics.

Those are great pics Carol. How many times have people asked this question????:D I'm sure that this will be a great help for those wanting to learn. Your so right about it being a multiple person job to get those pics...LOL Great job!!

I didn't post them to show everyone thier beautiful tails, I thought it would help some people who were wondering what the difference was. I often see people request some comparison pics so I finally took some. I know I couldn't decide which forum to post this in Breeding or Hubandry, but I think as an aid to new owners, I think it belongs here. And not in the photo gallery which is more for "showing off" your animals. Bad choice of words but I can't think of anything better right now
Thanks Alicia and Mare

DONT critisize ME!
i justed asked what was the question!

Many people often ask to see pictures of the tails of male and female corns for a comparison. As you can see, they have different shapes.

So this wasn't in reply to any particular question, Carol just thought it'd be useful to post these up as a reference for those who have asked in the past.

Let's all chill and be happy :D

yeah

Those are great pics.

I am really glad you posted them myself. Sometimes I skip the "photo" forum because I just don't have time. But these definitly deserve a place in the husbandry forum.

:) Nice job.

You are the only one critisizing, I was only defending my desicion to post them here. This in deed was an answer to many questions, people requesting these pics. I finally got some extra time to get these pics for people who want them. It was an explanation as to why I posted them here, not an attack on you.

Thank you, Carol, for the comparisons.

You go, Girl!

(You know this already, but Unregister, a.k.a.: Snakebite001, has very little--if any--people skills. She's been banned off this forum by Rich a number of times for her uncivil tongue. I know that you know it is best to ignore her, so I won't go there any more than I have. She'll self-destruct again, I'm almost sure of it.)

In the meantime--educate us--I don't know anyone who doesn't like lookin' at a little tail now and then. Wait a minute--Did I say that? Sorry folks. :p

Carol,
Very nice pic's! and a great way to see the difference, now if I could just get my snakes to lay still against the screen i might be able to tell them apart! I am going to go home and practice my snake traning skills. "ok kids roll over and lay next to the screen...now stay!" Hmm you think it will work??

Oh and Gregg, I agree with you, nothing better than some fine looking tail!!;)

LOL, typical men!! ;) Thanks for posting those pics, they will be a great help when I have hatchlings to sex (obviously when they are a bit older!). I know what you mean about it being a many people task...It takes 2 of us just to take a normal photo of Pretzel! And even then he really lives up to his name :p
