The temperature is nearing 37 F without the humidity reading. My tanks are 105 F and I have been trying to cool them down. How much heat can they withstand? What kind of strategies can I use to cool the tanks down?
If your trying to cool them down, you could try filling a cookie sheet with ice and water and letting the fan blow across that to cool off the tank. Im not sure if it would be work perfectly but I think it would help. Not sure of a better way of useing ice without temperature shock.
Add water dishes, and try to get the fans to blow IN the tanks. As the water evaporates, it will cool down the tanks. If you can't get the fan to blow air around IN the tanks, can you drape them with damp sheets and blow the fan on that? I was once without air conditioning here in the heat of Phoenix and I was able to sleep by getting under a damp sheet and pointing the fan at myself. Good luck.
Thanks everybody! I will put in the bigger water dishes and then I'll drape wet towels over the tanks with at least some air from the fans blowing on them. Lol. Its pretty funny..Usually I only worry about myself in the heat but now I don't even care if I have a breeze, as long as my snakes are ok.
Heh..Thanks MikeSaw23 but I hope that I never have to use the freezer for my poor snakes....But ice cream does sound good right now......and Yes..Damn Global warming!
