Decrease Humidity?

Don't Be "That Guy"
I have read many posts on how to increase humidity but I was wondering if there are any ways to decrease the humidity. The reason I ask is because I am taking my corn to school and the humidity is around 60%. My 2 boas are obviously fine with the higher humidity but will my corn be able to handle 60% without developing a RI?

The most logical thing would be to use a heat lamp to dry out the air but I am already using a UTH and the temps are fine. Any suggestions?

60% shouldn't be a problem. You could also use a smaller water bowl, and make sure that it is as far from your heat source as possible.

I asked the exact same question. Iwas told here on the boards to use the heat lamp and a smaller bowl of water. The only thing I have been able to do though is to leave the heat lamp on for a longer period than normal (12-14 hours instead of 10-12) and not mist the cage at all except when shedding.

I would follow what Roy Munson said (how great does that sound) about using a smaller bowl and moving it away from your UTH. BUT, I also wouldn't worry about 60%. At times during last summer, I was lucky if I could get the humidity in my rack system down to 60 and I never had any problems.

Personally, I wouldn't even consider a heat lamp a viable option unless you already use one, which it sounds like you don't. That's just my personal preference and opinion. It just seems to me like it would be too easy to overheat the viv, cause excessive drying or have something else go wrong if you go willy nilly with a heat lamp in addition to your UTH.
