Enouth corns yet?
i bought a pair of mice, just incase i had any problem feeders, well, i have 3 that havnt eaten, but my mouse had babies the other day, so i decided to put them 3 in with the snakes, but how do you lot get over killing the mice, or putting them with the snakes, the babies wouldnt eat them eaither, and the mum wouldnt take them back, so i fed the to my adult corn, he didnt even kill them, he jjust started eating, and they were squeeking whilst going down his throat

but i also felt bad, becuase i took all three, and the mother was searching :(#

how do you get over it?

Only three babies, she was either too young to have babies or she ate the rest of the litter.

Anyhoo aside that, my muma moose just dropped 17, I have frozen 6 pinks out of that, 2 got eaten and 9 are left. I need all sorts of sizes as i have a snake on pinks, 1 on fuzzies, 1 on small mice and 1 on adults.

The "bag and wack" method works wonders if you do it right. Quick and painless, although a little messy. You just have to get over the oh so cute thing. Mice are vermon. Its the natural order of things.

Although i am having a hard time freezing these pinks!!! And i doubt i could ever feed off my mumma and dad mooses, even when they start to get tired and the litter numbers drop.

yeah, the 2 i have are opets, and i have the biggest feeling the male ate them, becuase i didnt think she was gonan drop that soon either, but the bag wacky thing, if you hit it wrong they live, thats whats gonna bug me

but yes, she was sooo fat, so im pretty sure the male ate them, i may breed them, but my mum dont like it either, and yeah, if i do, ill leave some with her

ive made my mind up i will bredd my mice, and once my snakes are on fuzzies, i will get rats and breed them for the baby rats, i figured, im gonna be saving £150 + so its worth it, i will get over my upsetness of it, but i will also get the pet rats i want, i lvoe rats

can some one give me sort of growth chart, for both mice and rats like obviosly a one day old mouse is a pinkie, and a one day old rat as a pinkie rat,
but what age are they to be fuzzies, then hoppes and small mediam large? and same for large, i hope that made sence

yeah, i wouldnt want to really wack them, becuasei know if you do it wrong they will stay alive, and that would totally put me of breeding, they still are living things, and i love rodents as much as snake.

i live in the uk, where would get CO2? i know my neigbour uses some sort of lighter fluids, but becuase the rats/mice would inhale it, would it harm the snake?

or what other ways are there of killing them

could everyone tell me there methods?

There have been a number of discussions on this board about killing mice - I'd really reccomend that you search for them to correlate all the information you've got.

Don't try to C02 pinkies - it doesn't work well and the pinkies suffer. I simply feed them when they are that young, although you run the risk of the snake only taking live as the snake starts to take bigger food. If I remember correctly the most humane way of killing pinkies is exposure. That is, to simply put them in the freezer. I do this as well.

Have you tried feeding your hatchlings in a secure and rather dark container? Like a brown paper bag? That way you can leave the pinky in with them for a while (in their container so they don't escape!). I had a few that needed an overnight stay with the pinky :D

Hope this helps.

You can make a setup out of some aquarium tubing, 2 ziploc or glad containers and some baking soda and Viniger. we have 2 set ups like that. 1 for mice and another for rats.

Don't use lighter fluid or any other poison.

Do they allow home brewing of beer and wine in the UK? and if so is it fairly popular? (or popular enough to have supply shops anywhere??)

I purchased at a beer and wine brewers supply store here in Oregon a device designed to charge a keg. Its small enough to fit in your hand, and uses 12 gram CO2 cartridges purchased at the same store. I paid $15 US dollars for the device and the cartridges are like $4 a box or less.

Nice simple clean and effective.. (Gottired of the dad blamed vinegar solution over flowing in my poorly built chamber..)

Just get a Tupperware bowl, drill a hole in the side large enough for the CO2 charge units nozzle, affix a deflector if you think you need to .. When its time. Plug the thing in and squeeze the trigger for a brief burst.

Sorry forgot to add ... Rat pinkies are more equivalent to large fuzzie mice. If your snakes are only on mice pinkies it will be awhile before they can take down a rat pinkie.

I also am aware that the UK has some strange laws concernig rodents. Might want to check with some other UK'ers before you decide to breed your own. If I remember correctly it has something to do with the killing of them.

I get over the killing part because I was raised on a farm. Everything has a purpose. There is a reason most rodents are low on the food chain, they are prey for larger carnivores and omnivores.
