Western Terrestrial Garter

Bird Nerd
As some of you know, I am an ornithologist working on an endangered songbird (Willow Flycatcher) in the Sierra Nevada. We see all sorts of herps but mostly these garters. I just love the 'mean' look they have, lol. My research suggests a western terrestrial garter (I dont do much field herping). We also see all sorts of fence lizards around here as well. Enjoy!

That's a good looking snake. That supraocular process (not sure the exact name) does make him look mean lol. Bet he is a sweetheart though. Thanks for sharing.
