What does everybody use as a water dish for your hatchlings? Most of the set-ups for hatchlings just showed the outside of the tupperware container. I'm picking up my snakes tonight :crazy02: Thanx!

I pick up different sized dishes and bowls, usually in a pack of three or four, from dollar stores. One of them sells perfect little glass ones. I've also used small ash trays for water dishes, but they dont hold as much water.

Right now I use the dishes they sell at the pet stores but as my collection is growing, those are just too expensive. I will probably invest in some bowls as DaemoNox does. Dollar stores are great places to find such things.

I got some little cat dishes at Wal-mart. They have a recessed area under them, so they double as a hide. My hatchlings love them.

I have found lots of small glass dishes in thrift stores. I prefer them to plastic as they are easier to clean and do not stain. However, small containers as from cream cheese and margarine make good water bowls. In fact, I like to provide a bowl large enough for the snake to soak in.

The plastic tubs that contain the superworms that I buy for my beardies find double duty as water dishes for the snakes.

Price? $2.79 or free, depending on your perspective. :)

regards,
jazz

I use little plastic containers that holds "fruits & veggies" (specifically strawberries),its about 3cm deep,and about 6cm x 6cm..
Works wonders :grin01:

i use the ExoTerra Water Dishes lol they work wonders.. snake can submerge himself and Cannot tip it!!!!!

Then again anyone that has a large collection would be finnancialy insane to use them at 15$ a shot.. lol

I found dog dishes at the Dollar store that already have a decent sized hole cut into the side. I freaked out a bit because they were so perfect. This picture doesn't show the opening to underneath, but it's an example anyway. :)

for Nyxx(my bp) i use a little tubberware thats around 8"x5"x2" and she can soak in it fine and it doesn't tip, Terra(my new little corn snake) water dish is about 2" tall and and a inch and a half in diameter...it also has 6 little dome shaped stones(the kind you use in fish bowls, don't worry the six i'm using have never been in a fish bowl..ever.) in the botton to weigh it down a bit

i did have a big exo terra water dish for Nyxx but it caused the humidity to go up to high...so i switched to the little tubberware she has now
