Shedding advice, anyone?

Hey, I've had my 8 week old red albino corn snake for a little over a week and it's shedding right now. A few days ago I noticced a little cloudiness but I didn't think she was going to shed. I fed it a pinkie last night and she ate it, then this morning I saw her, well, shedding. The skin is coming off it's body in one piece, but then breaks off when it slithers across a branch or rough object, is this normal? Also, how long should it take for it to complete the shed? I've put some damp paper towels under her hides- any advice?

It should all be off pretty soon, just check the tail tip especially afterwards. You might like to put the snake in a ventilated lunchbox with a wet washcloth(room temp, no hotter) for 1/2 an hour, it works a treat

The shed is breaking away from her body, or is tearing while it is attached to the branches?

If it is breaking after it is off her body and rubbing on rough-stuff, I would say that this is normal. I have had a fed sheds turn out this way. If it is breaking before it is off of her body, then I would say you should double check humidity levels. (Low humidity has caused bad sheds for me)

I'm not sure how long a shed takes from start to finish, because I have only seen the last bit of shedding. From the speed of what I saw, I would imagine that a good (whole) shed would only take a few minutes...assuming that the snake kept moving.

Thanks for the quick replies!!! Don't worry, it breaks away after it's shed from her body. Hmm, it was shedding quite quickly in the morning because she was moving around loads, but in the last few hours it hasn't shed at all... I'll try putting her in a box with a wet washcloth then
