New Arrivals from Carol: Bairdis & MBK

My order from Carol came today. My sister's male MBK was in the order, so I had the package delivered to her house, so I wouldn't miss work. The MBK and Bairdi pairs arrived healthy, active, and well-behaved. I took photos of Pumilio's MBK too, but I'll let her post those, if she wants.

I love the MBK, and the Bairdis are awesome. I've never seen a Baird's rat in person. I love the way they look now, but I'm looking very forward to watching them develop. :) The Bairdis are a birthday present from Pumilio and my Mom. Thanks Mom and Pumilio. :D

Another flawless transaction with Carol. She actually threw this female MBK into the order for free. Still don't know why, but I never look a gift MBK in the mouth. :grin01: Thanks again, Carol.

Wow Dean, those are awesome! Congrats on such lovely new babies.

And yes, Carol is awesome to deal with. She was very kind to me whilst I tried to make up my mind for my order and also threw in a couple of 'freebie's' that I couldn't be happier with. :)

I'm so glad you like them!

It was because she doesn't have perfect pattern, (even though that didn't stop Maria from turning out solid), but more importantly, because she insists on eating only live prey. I've tried to turn her around and she's very stubborn. I hate selling live feeders and I'd rather give her to you than to keep all four snakes around while I try and change her mind. :)

I really look forward to the progression pics of the Biardis!

Thanks folks. :)

I sure do. Those Bairdis are way-cool. You know that feeling you get when you admire a type of snake for a long time, but you've never seen one in person, and then it arrives at your door? I had that feeling in a big way today. :)

I appreciate it. I think Maria actually had a stronger pattern. I've had some stubborn live-feeders, and after some looooong stretches, they seem to have turned around for good. Consuela will be fine. ;)

I'll definitely be posting them. :)

Great!
BTW, treat the Biards like Upper Keys and you will be fine. LOL. They are very similar. Friendly and adventurous, all tail rattle and no bite. :) Curious puppy dogs really.

very nice mr. munson..........awesome pick-ups. and that belly on the biards is killer.

Great pick ups Dean. Joe got a pair of Bairdi's from Carol earlier and I had the same feeling you did. They are just so awesome to see in person and I can't wait to see how they progress. Will be interesting to see how yours color up compared to Joe's.

WooHoo! Nice pick ups, I'm liking the MBKs more and more with every new post, and Desmond and Molly's little brother and sister look just as great! Can't wait to see the comparisons as they grow... name them yet?

Thanks Chris, Galen, Katie, and Mary-Beth. Glad you like the name M-B. I had that name picked for my next female MBK for a long time. :)

Thanks Joe. That MBK will go all black in time. Did you see my sister's thread with her new male MBK? That snake kicks a$$. The Bairdis are named Byron and Belinda.

That's what I mean, everyone seems to have a MBK now, lol, still torn on that though, as I already have my king projects about complete... :D Cool names, where'd you come up with those?

Yeah, they're the "in" snake. LOL. I'll bet quite a few folks approach MBKs from my viewpoint. We always wished that there was an all-black corn, but that's just not going to happen soon. You could work on it for twenty generations, and I'm still not sure that you'd get anywhere near a mature MBK. There are enough cool corn projects out there without putting myself through the misery of that one, so MBKs were my concession.

I'm glad you like the names. I'm not sure how cool they are. :grin01: I used my 60-second naming rule that requires alliteration between names and type. There's back-up protocol when this convention fails, but I didn't have to resort to that...

Amazing new snakes again! Thanks for sharing, I'd never seen Baird's babies, they look just as good as when they get their colours later!

Nice looking bairdi's Dean! I finally get to see the pair I picked up from Jimmy when I leave Cali in less than 2 days, yay! Progression pics with them is a definate must :)
