I did not think these pics were sharp enough, but this lady has not been shows for too long and since jzal really likes kings.... I present an update on Gotcha!

She still does not turn purple as promised by the breeder (said she is a lavender and previous clutches turned purple too), and I was told that she looks like a more regular striped Coastal Cali king, so I decided to go with that for now. She might end up being sold someday though if I need to make space for a corn fitting into specific breeding plans if I ever get to them  I do hope that she'll turn purple before it comes that far! Then she'll stay and some othe arangement has to be made...

HA! Just when you think you know who your friends are :) She is absolutely beautiful, its tough to stay away from these gems.

I Know, I already bought me a speckled king when I saw her, so she was not planned for cause I wanted one king.... so she honestly should be the one to move if necessary if needed... I did only buy her cause she was labeled as lavender!

Actually I do allso in the body pic but I'll contribute it to wishfull thinking untill it's more visible... But thanks for giving a little hope!

She sure is pretty! How's her temperment? I think I can see a bit of purple in a couple of the pics as well.

Jenn

Thanks! She can be a bit moody picking her up when she is not handled for some time, but when she is in hands, she is nice and calm all the time.

She has such an incredibly evil expression on her face in the third pic, it's so cute!

I think I see some purple in her too.

I think she looks great, but I would be surprised if she gets more than the purplish cast she has now. I don't know that much about king morphs, but she looks more like the coloration they call "chocolate" than lavender. :shrugs:

I have little hope too, cause lavenders are known in 2 kinds; albino or the so called 'blue eyed blondes' (some kind of hypo), which both are born with their adult coloration....

Ya know, I completely forgot that kings and milks don't really go through the color changes from infancy to adulthood that corns go through. There are minor changes, such a the development of a yellow wash or black saddles lightening up to a deep brown - but nothing as drastic as going from a brown and silver hatchling to a bright red and silver adult (miami was the first thing that popped into my head).

She's still a nice looking critter. *s*

That is what makes then slighlty boring for me.... but they have something to them too that makes it nice to have at least one!

I also can see the purple tinge in the 2nd pic.... I think the chocolaty-brown-PurpleTinge is really nice, Gotcha is a looker!
