Opinion on Photo Contest Rule?

ArpeggioAngel

Around Here Somewhere....
There is a reptile photo contest that I am thinking of entering. This is listed under the rules:
Hybrids or cultivated colour morphs are not eligible subjects.

Would you take this to mean that I couldn't submit a photo of say a Caramel Motley or a Lavender Cornsnake? These would be considered cultivated colour morphs wouldn't they?

What about an Okeetee or Miami? Since those are locality specific "normal" cornsnakes, would those be included or excluded?

Any opinions much appreciated. Will help me narrow down my choices of photos I could possibly enter.

To me, it almost sounds like they are implying "normals only", but it all depends on their definition of "cultivated". An okeetee or miami is a normal of sorts, but (again, depending on the definition) they could be considered cultivated in that they are selectively bred. :shrugs:

I would contact the people hosting the contest and have them explain exactly what they mean. I would hate for you to misinterpret the rules and have a great pic get thrown out on a technicality.

I think it would depend on the site hosting the contest. If it's a nature site, I would stick to normals, like your Grey Band or Trans Pecos, or you can hire my models, the Emoryis, Normal Corns, Bairdis, Scarlet King, Ball Python... standard rider contract, (mouse buffet, bottled water, green M&M's), plus 10% managers cut on any winnings.... :grin01:
