My New King Snake - crappy camera warning!

I finally got the time to snap a couple of shots of "Abigail', my latest acquisition - a female Durango Mountain King and future mate of 'King Diamond'. She's a lot darker than he is.
I have to buy batteries, so was only able to get a few pics before the camera pooped out on me. I will try to get better pics soon.

Her mate King Diamond

I was really happy to find a girlfriend for this boy that was already an adult. As you can see he's a bit lighter than she is, and IMO he's the prettier of the two. I kinda hope their babies will look more like him, if I have any success with the pair.

Thanks!
I've been doing a bit of research, and these sound a little more challenging to breed than the corns with cool brumation temps very necessary, especially for the male. I hope I will be able to breed them, I really like this species. They have docile temperaments (Abigail did bite me but it was right after she ate and she let go when I wasn't the mouse she expected) and are a smaller type of Kingsnake than the Calis or Florida ones, but they will still cull deformed hatchlings if needed -at least K.D. has done it once so far.

They are both a pair of great looking kings, and it looks like they'd look good together! I really love how light King D is though!

Took a couple more pics of Abigail today, I just turned off their heat and began brumation. She came out a little better in these, but still the same cheapo camera... at least in these you can see she DOES have some red, intermittently in some of her saddles lol.

Those are very nice snakes! I share your pain when it comes to wrestling with the camera... out of the millions of snakey pics I've taken, I have perhaps 3 I'm very happy with.

thanks... I guess that's about my ratio of good pics to garbage as well. Christmas is coming, I hope Santa will be nice and give me a new camera :)

What a great couple! You were lucky to find her. When do you expect to introduce them? I _like_ the not so normal/darker coloration. Kingsnakes are so sweet.

Thanks - I'll probably be putting them together next spring when Abigail shows signs of ovulating. According to her previous owner, it was pretty obvious when she was last year and she almost looked gravid, I guess I will have to be a little more careful since these are king snakes. (That's not a meal, it's your new love interest!) lol

congrats on your new girl. hope everything goes good next year when you try to breed them.

i just got my first king the 5th of this month...her name is Maeve...she's just an albino Cali King though not the kind you have
