Well,,I have been on a 1 every 4th day feeding schedule, and decided to try "upping the anti".
My little buddy was do to eat,so being that he has been taking the pinkies down in the blink of an eye, with nothing to show for it,in less than 48 hours,,I decided to try 2.No problem,,and he looks much "fuller" than he has been.I will be getting slightly larger pinkies next time

Before your next feeding, try taking the food item and hold it next to the largest part of your snake, it should be about 1.5x the largest part of your snake.

But then the snake will go for the pinky wont it?

I usually compare it to my fingers. See which finger and which part of it is the same size as the largest part of your snake and compare the pinkie to your finger.. tada!

OK,,I see what your saying here.As far as holding the pinkie next to his widest/thickest section,,well that isn't going to fly.No way he'll hold still for that match up.I will be going by "finger" sizing.
Now, let me see if I'm understanding the gist of this; If his back(the snake),,at its widest point, is as wide as my pinkie, then his meal should by 1.5 times that wide,,yes ?,,or should I be going by the snakes biggest girth ?.

Imagine you have an air view of your snake, compare the width of the widest part of the snake and then x1.5 and do the same with the food ;)

If your snake is ****
the food should be MAX ******

Every 4 days feeding schedule seems a bit excessive to me, although I know a lot of people do it. I don't know the particular circumstance with your snake either maybe it was a slow starter that needed to "catch up", or something like that. I personally would go with a larger food item every 7 days. Just to 3rd or 4th what the others said, the prey item should be up to but not bigger than 1.5x's the snakes girth at its widest point.

I decrease the frequency of feeding as the size of the food increases. Something like this:

Pinkies: one every 4-5 days
Fuzzies: one every 5-6 days
Small mice: one every 7 days
Medium mice: one every 10 days
Large mice: one every 10-14 days

I do about the same, but on a little bit 'heavier' scheme. I allso feed 2 of the same size a couple of times in between going to a bigger size.
