it has to be 2 years when i finish my GCSE’S.now i know that they are v v important but why they dont hold you back,how would it,id still do all my work

I did do well... very well in fact. But I have never needed those qualifications in the years since I left school...
 
I've got a snake and I've just started my GCSE course. Snakes must be one of the lowest maintenance pets ever. You feed them once a week, and clean out their cage once a month. That's all you need to do. All my other pets need way more care; dog, rabbit, even the fish! Just tell your parents how low maintenance they are!
 
Yeah, take out all the bedding, rinse the viv with a bleach solution and put in new bedding. The snake can go in container whilst you do this, e.g, the one you feed it in.
 
Can I just interject to say that you Brits have a system that we American teachers are much in envy of??

I wish we had a test at the end of middle school where the lazy do-nothing's got tossed into the work force. *sighs* If only....
 
I already had two corns but really wanted a boa. Luckily my mum completely underestimated me and promised if I got top marks I could have 1. Sometimes I am so glad that I am clever, i know have a baby boa

I've been wanting a snake since this time last year, but my mum said that when I passed or was good enough to pass, my grade 6 trumpet, I could get a cornsnake.



I failed my grade 5 at the end of last term. :cry:

A while yet for me then, I guess...

Yeah, you need to do that too, but you've still got to give it a full clean once a month- don't worry though, it doesn't take long. How close are you to getting your corn? Is it looking likely that you'll be getting it quite soon?
 
I think GCSE's are important, mainly for those who aspire to carry on into further education and have a-levels to do first, but also for the 'workers' who don't have much to show prospective employers apart from their GCSE grades.
Even if you want to work at macky d's you'll be asked what grades you got, just the same as if you wanted to be Sir Alan Sugars new apprentice. hehe.
I think your parents are on the right track. Knowing that there's light at the end of the tunnel if you do yourself proud can only spur you on to great things.
Oh and Tula, I agree with you too that high grades aren't the be all and end all. A friend of mine got expelled from school 3 weeks before final exams and was destined to be a dole dosser, but he picked himself up, found himself a job and is now earning £500+ a week. I'm pretty sure he's the exception.

Christina, they're the General Certificates of Secondary Education. British children take them at age 16.
