We typically use aspen 90% of the time, but sometimes use paper towel for hatchlings and yearings when the need arises.

Using cypress mulch right now as thats what the Pet Store reccomended, in the past i have used Ground Walnut shells theya re easy to clean.

I have used aspen in the past, but to be honest it just got too messy. With 18+ tubs to check or clean everyday. Plus the hatchlings tend to mess up their waterbowls therefore I switched EVERYTHING to newspaper/kitchen towel and its worked a charm.

They love annoying me by hiding underneath the newspaper instead of using hides galore.

Worked out much cheaper and far easier to clean.

I use aspen in all my older corn tubs. For me it's easier to spot clean than cypress. My snakes always do their business under the cypress, making it hard to find and clean. Although I use cypress in the living room for display tanks. I only use paper towels for hatchlings. That way I can monitor dukes and pukes more closely.

I use indoor/outdoor carpet for now but when I get babies I will use newspaper or papertowel. Just for ease of cleanup.

I voted for Aspen, while it's not necessarily my favorite, it definitely appears to be Kieran's favorite and that really is the most important opinion ;)

Aspen is what I use with both of my corns.. inexpensive and ease
of use.. plus recommended by the breeder I got my little one from.

carpet. i believe it was made my one of the big reptile companys.. don't remember which one. i got it at the local pet store. i put in on the ground and on three walls, machine washable- i use hot water, no soap- and hang it to dry. looks nice. i suppose it would have been considered pricey, though i only need buy it once.

i use coconut bedding for my little baby i was worried using aspen just cause i tought it might be too sharp any ways my snake loves it he completely buries himself in it it will be hard to clean but he loves it do they make blonde coconut bedding
?

well, this thread came up at a good time. I was just deciding on what to use as substrate!

I guess I'll be going with aspen. I may switch if it dosen't work out, but from what people are saying it looks like a winner.

I was talked into switching from repti-bark to aspen from others on this forum. And boy am I glad I switched.. My adult has never burrowed and seemed to enjoy her substrate the way she (or he) does now. Will use aspen from now on
