Vivarium size question

My hatchling corn is 18 (46cm) inches long and currently residing in the plastic exo-terra small faunarium I got with him (23 x 15 x 16cm). Is this too small? IF so what size/brand of viv should I go for? I dont think I can get 'critter keeper' vivs here in the UK.

A woman at a petshop told me today I should be considering getting his main vivarium soon.

Yeah, she's seeing dollar signs. Or pound signs. :grin01:

The snake should be OK in the 2-foot viv for quite some time. I mean, lots of people keep them their whole lives in a 20 gallon, long. Which is about 30" if I'm not mistaken.

OOPS! I see your measurement is in cm.

So it would be about 9" across. Yeah, that's kinda small. I would bump the cage up pretty soon.

don't mind me. :sidestep:

I would say your snake is ready for a new home. I use 3-foot long Aquapac Hobbyists for my snakes. Here are a few pics to give you some ideas.

I would definately move up very very soon. That is too small for an 18" corn. There are ton's of options for a viv ranging from just a big sweater box to aquariums, to custom vivs. Check the link in my sig for instructions to build a custom viv. It's easy, cheap, and looks pretty good IMO and would be plenty big enough for your snake for the rest of their life.
