Shedding Question

I wonder if someone could answer a question for me. I had alot of advise from everyone when Irwin first shed, which was on 22nd October. Basically he went into hiding for a week and shed very successfully.

However, its has only been three weeks and he is going into shed again, he has been in hiding since last Monday and on Saturday he poked his head out and his eyes were very blue, so I know he is shedding. But my question is should he be shedding this quickly since the last one was only 3 weeks ago.

Also, I don't know if this will have anything to do with it, but we fed him his first fuzzie the saturday before he started going into hiding. Although it looked like he was struggling to get it into his mouth, he successfully ate it and digested it well. He had previously been on two pinkies for about 4 feeds, but was digesting these very quickly, which is why we moved him to a fuzzie. Could this have triggered of another shed. He does seem to be growing very quickly. He is about 17 inchs long now. Any answers would be great. Thanks

Since fuzzies are more developed than pinkies, the corn is getting more nutrition, thus growing quicker, resulting in more frequent sheds.
I read that a young corn can shed a couple of times a month (I'm not sure if it was related to power feeding).

My first shed was a few weeks ago. I didn't notice a big change in Houdini's eyes like everyone reports. I did however notice Houdini looked a little pale. Wow the next day was shed. I am paying more attention to it now but if I miss again, how stressing is it for Houdini to be handled so close to shed?

:) well I am pleased to say Irwin had a successful shed again, came off all in one piece. We gave him his fuzzie and he gobbled it down alot easier this time.

I can't believe that I have seen him shed both times now from beginning to end. I think he likes the attention :grin01:
