Try a local feed store. Any online source is going to be expensive for shipping. Or barring that, Petsmart has the big Kaytee bag for $12.99.

Make that 11.99 for the 2 cubic foot Kaytee Aspen Shavings at Petsmart.

Wow 19.99 for 24 quarts is a really high price. that's only .80 cubic feet.

The big Kaytee bag is 2 cubic feet (60 qts) compressed, expands allegedly to 4 cubic feet (120 quarts)

I found a feed store that sells aspen chips for 3.95 for 2.5 cubic feet, though its a good distance away from me.

Do any respiration problems result from using Aspen bedding?

maybe thats a different type of bedding im thinking of.

You may be thinking of cedar, it is a known respiratory irritant

The Kaytee is similar to pine shavings, though coarser to the touch. I use it in combination with pine, two parts aspen to one pine, because the pine softens the overall feel of the bedding. The other brand is straight, more like short sections of straw or long splinters.
