I usually have no problems at all culling pinkies, but when they get to the fuzzie or hopper stage, I dont know!!! I'm just glad none of my snakes are big enough for hoppers yet!

I understand! When we had our one little litter of mice I had a real issue culling them when they got cute and fuzzy. But after momma mouse attacked them and f'ed them up pretty bad and they weren't going to make it anyways...then it was a no choice type of thing.

I could never grow my own- I'd end up with a house full of mice. I don't mind feeding take-out mice, though!

I don't know if I could do it either. They're just tooooo cute. That's why I buy them already dead.

Well, I come back and you've got a bunch o' little ones. Congratulations! Now cull those hairy beasts. All those legs and what're those? Ears? Jeez.

I think in future mouse progression threads, you need to arrange the pile in the exact same order each time! ;-)

Love the one with the little blaze...

I don't think my snakes like their mice breaded... :sidestep:

I don't breed them as a sole source of food for my snakes, I just took a stab at it, after 3 months of nothing I culled the male and well... days later I had 2 litters :shrugs: figures.

Who knows if I may or may not continue breeding, I know it will come in handy for when I am hatching my own snakes to have live readily available and that. Plus I've got some mighty fine looking ones, I may have to experiment... muhahahMUHAHAHHA! :grin01:

hehe, how do you kill ur mice? is there a certain way ppl do it? cuzz the easyest way is probs to drop them in a cup of water lol, ive never done it but it seems easy enough

Hah, mouse bites feel like razors clamping down on your skin. I've never seen a mouse hold on, they bite and then run off.
If they do hold on, you put their head under cold running water, just like you do if you get bitten by a ferret.

A baby charcoal corn, just got him today.
Although I think it's a she.
I'll check tomorrow, too late now

cool this ur first snake? ive just got a juv okeetee corn, i'am leaving him a week before i hold him, id do the same thing if i was you cuzz they can get a little scared and snappy :) and ontop of that acording to mines records... it only ate 2 days ago :x

I fed a corn last week at college and held one (I study Animal Care) and I was fascinated by them, so I got one as an early christmas present today :D
Yeah, I'm leaving him a while, he was fine when I took him out of his plastic travel cup, but I wanna be on the safe side.
Mine ate last tuesday, I MAY feed him tomorrow, because people on here are saying to feed them every 4-5 days, but I'm not sure :x

lol you sound just like me, i got mine as an early christmas prezzy too, :) mines 2 years old and on his record sheet very very tame and when i got him he was fine but i went to get him out yesterday and he snapped at me and the same today :/ so ive been told to wait a week :p

I have no idea how old mine is... :(
It is a baby though, I was told, so it's my job to tame it up.
Yeah, kinda stressful for them to be moved into a new viv, you should wait a while.
