Feeding ??

Droptines

How long should your snake look "full" ?.I just bumped my snake up to fuzzys,,which left a much larger lump, compared to the 2 pinkie feedings,,BUT the lump was gone just as fast.Yesterday morning he came out of a hide looking slim as ever,,and last night I seen him out,,and a fresh pile of.. :sidestep:
Does this all seem normal ??.

seems normal to me, was your corn eating two pinkies a week for long before you bumped it up to fuzzies? id stick to the fuzzies for nowanyway if the lump is around 1 and 1/2 times the thickest part of the snake.

I agree that it is normal. Two large pinkies can actually be a bigger meal than a fuzzy. A few more fuzzy feedings and he will probably be ready to go to hoppers. He could go to hoppers now, but I wouldn't want to rush him and risk a regurge.

:eek1: I don't know about hoppers yet...Watching him totally stretch his neck to the max FREAKED me out :eek1: ,,I think hes "met his match" for a while...

I have kind of the same question. I just bumped up our baby to 2 pinks. The ones I had were small, but these last was were more like 5 day old pinks which I am thinking would be enough for her. Did I perhaps start a bout of regurge by giving her both? Man I hope not, just want your advice on the situation......THANKS!

Snakemom,,don't forget to "slit".I know it may seem a bit,well.. :puke01:
But,,I believe it helps speed up digestion, and cut down on regurges :puke01:
My snake had a few "give backs" in the beginning. Not sure why,,temps were good and everything else seemed OK.The first was 1 of a 2 pinkie feeding(might have been too much, too soon),the second was very next feeding. Not sure what happened with that one,,I did Waite for 10 days :shrugs:
Then he got back on track,,,,then he ESCAPED for 28 days :eek1:
Thats all behind us now, everythings.Growing pretty good.
Back to the slitting,,I'm a believer, and I will keep doing it for a long time :grin01: ..Good luck

It is possible that she could regurge if being fed two pinkies. That's how my Scarlett started, and I almost lost her. If you are going to feed two pinkies, increase the interval between feedings to 6-7 days to make sure they are fully digested before offering the next meal.

Getting Discouraged

That's what I've been doing. Feeding every 6 days. This is her 4th double pink feeding. I should have said 1 of the pinks was like a 5 day old pink, the other one was small. Was the last of the small pinks I had. I think I'll probably just try 1 of the large pinks every 5 days for a few feedings before I go to 2 of the large pinks. Does that sound about right?

I just moved up to fuzzys.I had been doing the 2 pinkie meal, but with in 24 hours,it looked like she hadn't been feed.'
Now with fuzzys, the lump is noticeably larger,,but still seems to be gone by 36 hours :shrugs: ,,from what I been reading, this is normal.
