First Litter of Pinks!!!!

Well, I bought my first breeding colony of Mice on January 1, 2007 from Petco. One male and two females (Red-eyed Whites)...which I ended up naming Hickory, Dickory, and Dock. I actually posted a thread about it.

Anyway to the point...I was really expecting it to take a month or two to produce a litter but lucky me, my male and one of the females got busy right away...I now have my first litter of pinks (I found out this morning). I knew she was pregnant for sure a couple days ago because she was HUGE!

It looks like a very small litter (I'm not sure if she's done giving birth, she probably is though). I didn't get an accurate count because I didn't want to disturb them but it looks to be two or three.

I am going to just keep these babies because it's a very small litter, I already have two frozen pinks, and my snake has gone on a hunger strike.

It's very exciting! :)

That is pretty lucky to get a litter exactly 3 weeks after starting the colony.
if she was HUGE as you say, I would expect more than 203.

Yeah, I agree that was pretty lucky.

I don't know when the other female will produce a litter...I did see my male attempting to breed with her a week ago though.

I just checked on the litter because I was very curious as to how many pinks there actually were. When I quickly looked (I didn't want to disturb the mom) at 10:00 this morning I saw only two or three but when I took a better look just now (3:28 p.m.) I counted six.

She was huge but now she is back to normal weight.
