Hatchling ages

I was wondering what the ideal age is, or what age hatchlings are usually sold at. I found someone with the kind of corn Id like, she said its 3 1/2 months old. Id like one that is young, but I dont know what is considered "young" as far as they go.

I think its pretty safe after the snake is a few weeks old so 3 1/2 months should be perfect. Before they are a year old they are considered "hatchlings" (from what I understand) and then they are "Yearlings". I got my corn when he was pretty young 2 months maybe, and next time I get a corn I am going to get an older one just because it makes them easier to handle. Anyway 3 1/2 months is still young, its really cool to watch them grow up and see their colors change. Good luck! ;)

I have an almost six-month old who still seems like a little baby to me. 16 grams!

I will sell corns usually after having 3 consecutive meals without problem. The ones that give me problems the first meal, I will sell at 5 meals, and so on.

agreeing with fender.............most respectable breeders/sellers will allow their hatchlings to eat/digest/crap around 3-5 times to make sure everything is allright with the snake before selling. having said that, you could get actually purchase a snake that is only 3-4 weeks old but personally i would only do that with a well-known and respected breeder. good luck with your possible newest addition and post some pics up once you get it.
