I'm either thick or lazy

I've recently found out my Anery A is female, and at a year old and 33" long I'm starting to think I'd like to breed her for next year...

so after reading a bit.. and looking at genetics and stuff I'm still not getting my head around it... So for a quick answer... How do i tell exactly what I've got... ( ie what the heck is het and hypo all about and is it possible to find out without knowing parents and bloodline)

secondly... what do you get is you mix a female Anery A with a (fill in the blank)...??

or am i barking up the wrong tree.... ??

The only way to find out a snakes genetics (possible hets) is to try selective breeding with known traits. For your aneryth A female, the first breeding I would choose would be to a snow. If you get both aneryth and snow offspring, then you know your snake is het amel (ie rrBb - r for recessive gene causing no red color to be produced, B for dominant gene to produce black color, and b for recessive gene to not produce black color.).

The next breeding would be to a ghost. If you get aneryths and ghost offspring, then your snake is het hypo.

After that, you can pick and choose for pattern mutations or other color mutations such as caramel or lavender, but htese are probably less likely, but you never know.
