Around Here Somewhere....
Well, I am ashamed to say it took me almost a week to come up with a name for this guy. Usually I have a name picked out within an hour of getting a new snake, but I was stumped with this one. (I actually have a list of potential names in a notebook that I keep for future purchases - sad, I know - but none of them fit him)

Finally hit me while working yesterday...
Updated outdoor pics of my newest acquisition:
Boone - '05 Eastern Milksnake

I am totally in love with this guy and he was an impulse buy! Such a mellow personality - constantly tasting everything...I have never seen a tongue out so much as his is! Need to bulk him up and hopefully find him a girlfriend.

What a stunning face he has!

Name wise are you referring to Boone as in NC Boone renowned for its tranquility/peace/beauty or...

You should have seen the other one, it was equally as gorgeous, but entirely different. Boone was the aberrant one.

And then there was a Louisianna Milk, too- tri-color! I loved that one as well.

Man, after seeing Boone I may have to branch out into milksnake country. Between Boone and Mikes king, I'M IN TROUBLE!.....lol

That guy rocks, Katie! I've seen quite a few Eastern milks in Connecticut, but they don't have quite the look of this guy. In fact, the ones around here look very much like corns, right down to the spear-point head pattern. I like Boone's look better! I've tried to keep a couple of w/c hatchlings, but I never could get them to eat (they're tiny), so I released them. I'd like to give it another shot someday. Congrats. :)

The guy I got him from had purchased Boone and another one - a female - at the same time. He didn't really need Boone, but it was a package deal. He advised when he first got them, Boone would not eat but he turned him around and got him feeding. He is really long, but skinny. The guy said he had tried bulking him up by offering him rat pinks but that he just won't eat them. His first meal with me he took down two fuzzies like nothing...I think I am going to try to get him to eat one fuzzy and then throw in a rat pink and try to trick him into eating it.

He does really remind me of a cornsnake, but with a smaller head. I wasn't aware of how small until I tried to feed him a hopper and he just couldn't get his mouth around it!! My corns of the same size can take a hopper or small adult mouse with no problem.

He's from Georgia, right?
I believe that is correct and the other one was from Southern PA.
