Aw! I love his pool, how you cut a little door for him to get in and out. God luck- they aren't the easiest thing. DO NOT let him eat catfood, whatever you do! (Mine was snacking on dry catfood, and we thought it was cute, till he died so fast we couldn't do anything! He even went to intensive care. And he was a big, well-established guy, not a fragile baby.)

Just to expound what Nanci said, for some new herpers who see this and think "Wow, what a great next reptile". Iguana's are NOT a good beginner lizard; they have specific diet, heating and lighting requirements. They can be temperamental, and a 4 to 5' plus iggy can really put a bite on you.

Good luck luck with him, and neat crabs too :*)

One of the good things about having him is the fridge is allways full of fresh greens and veggies. Him and I like to eat the same things. Thats a big plus for me.

Lighting wasnt that bad for me. The heat lamp i had from a previous pet box turtle i accidently ran over with the lawn mower. Thats how we found him, we housed him through winter untill he recovered and released him in the spring. Just some minor cosmetic damage. Kids named him Speedy.

The bigger lamp for the vitamen enrichment light was something we had to purchase. UV something i will have to check the box. I had a tank allready, and my wife and I are building a habitat for him to grow into.

What amazes me is they are very shy. That something i didnt know. He will come out and sun but once he warms up, he is back in his hide. You allso have to keep them on a set routine, much like myself. Which my wife after 7 years of marriage is quite good at.

So i guess you could say its kinda like having a pet me. LOL
We eat the same things, lay around till where warm, then when we get tired of dealing with it all, we go to bed.
