Glad your royal has such a good feeding response. I would get him/her on rats asap. Some royals get too used to mice and refuse to switch to rats when the time comes, thus why I start everything on rat pups and just move up.

And that substrate isn't good for feeding on, personally I just keep everything on newspaper as substrate in just a pain in the bum :p

I was thinking about him getting to used to eating mice, but the pet store I go to never has rat pups, and I been waiting for them to get some. If they don't have them this Thursday I'll go somewhere else. And with the substrate I've been having doubts about it, noticing little pieces of it in his mouth when he eats, I'll have to change it to something else. Thanks for the advice.

nice shots of your python eating. Instead of having to change the substrate, just feed him in a different bin, lined with paper towels or with nothing in it. Easy to clean afterwards and you can be sure that no substrate gets swallowed. Just a suggestion. :D

Yeah I was thinking about that too, and I do that with my cornsnake. But I'm not sure if taking my python out would upset him and keep him from eating, I'll have to try to find out I guess.
