After the story broke about the city Maitland (Fl.) acquiring permits to bury some 1200 Gopher Tortoises in their holes public outcry was huge. Hence, the city has decided to relocate instead of assassinate.

I thought the tortoises were gone in C. Florida. Good to see a fair number of them will survive.
