Why would my snake do this ?..

It seems like the last few times I have fed my snake, she goes for the cool side of the tank.Normally when I put her back in the I would point her in the direction of her warm hide,,which she would go into.
Now,,she'll go in,but then come right back out,,and go over to the cool side.
Last night she ate a big meal, but went for the cool side of the tank.I think she may have even spent the night there :shrugs:
I even tried to make her crawl over to her warm hide,,no go,,she just sat in the corner, and after I left her for a minute, she crawled into her cool cave.
WEIRD ??what do you guys think ?.Her cool side runs about 70 to 72 and her warm side runs 85 to 88(quick digesting temps :) )

My adult snake always uses her cool side. Her warm side is at 85.3, yet will not use it. Same hides on both sides but she prefers her cool side. I think you will find all snakes are individuals and some just don't care to be on thier warm side much. I don't think you have anything to worry about unless she starts having regurge problems. Good luck with your girl.

Agree with snakemom. A couple of mine never seem to spend time down tha warm end, regardless of whether they've just eaten.

Your best bet is to leave your Corn to decide and not stress it by trying to make it do what you THINK it should be doing.

As snakemom says, they're all individuals, so perhaps this is just part of its individual characteristics (I was going to type "personality", but I don't think I'd go that far with a Corn).

I agree with those guys. The snake is going to go where it needs to go- as long as you have provided a warm and cool side which are equally attractive, let the snake decide.

Maizey- goes warm to digest, or half in, half out of warm
Inez- never goes warm
Choco- almost never goes warm, but stays at the edge of warm under the substrate
Zee- usually goes warm
Addy- usually goes warm

Thanks guys.I was kinda thinking about the whole "individual" likes and dis-likes,,but thought I should ask the experts first.
I checked on her tonight and shes back in her warm hide :shrugs: ...interesting critters for sure.

i'm not expert in this, but i think our snakes know what suit the best for them :D
if they need to be in the warm place, they would go to that place without being told :D
just my opinion :)
