Went to the herp store to get Lexi probbed to make sure she's a girl, and ended up saving a couple feeders. Asked the guy there if he knew of any fancy rat breeders in the area, cause I've been wanting to get a couple as pets, and he just happened to have a litter of silver hoodeds in the back. Figured it was fate, so came home with a pair of brothers. My wife said I should name them after some lawyers, so I thought for a minute Jacoby and Meyers (not sure if they're national, but all over the tv here). I'm thinking that might be a bit demeaning to the rats, though, lol. Name's are still being considered, but if anyone wants to vote for Jacoby and Meyers, feel free, haha.

:roflmao: Even if they are local, those names are cool anyway.

Usually I shudder when I see rats, but those guys are pretty darned cute. Congrats.

I vote for the obvious (and overused) "lunch" and "dinner" . . . :sidestep:

Funny, that's what my cats voted for too :grin01: .

Thanks for the comments. As far as age, I was so excited to find them (been looking for awhile now), that I didn't even think to ask. Just made sure they're old enough to be away from momma. Their first night here went really well. Saw both eat, so that was good, and I feel a bit better. I was a bit nervous cause of how small the one is. I think I've finally got the names figured out now. Lenny and Squiggy. Classic pair and kinda rat sounding names if you ask me.

I'm pretty glad I don't have anyone who eats rats. Jake's big enough, but he apparently doesn't do rat.

Rats are GREAT pets. Around here, the "big pair" of lawyers are "Saiontz," pronounced "Sye-unz" and "Kirk." However, I think it would be a shame to name two cute and innocent rats after them!! :eek1:

Beltz and Ruth are the big one's here for lawyers and Cotanya and Cotanya but that defeats the purpose, could go with meal and snack, or name them after snacks, dorito and funyon or somethin

I just picked up two female Degues from a local exotic pet shop last night and named them sugar and spice which fits their temperments perfectly

A friend of mine has two female sister rats, and named them Tick and Tack... haha
That's cool. My first thought for names was Frik and Frak, but figured that might be too similar sounding, since they can learn their names. I'm gonna go with Lenny and Squiggy. And now that I finally settled on names, time to start the training. Thanks again for all the comments all
