I just bought my 40 gal terrarium from petsmart. Should I clean it?

Assuming there are no mouse droppings or urine stains in or on it. If there are, I'd add a bit o' bleach to your wiping, followed by a plain water rinse. Congrats on the BIG cage!!
 
Just to back up what everyone else said, yes! Anything that comes in contact with your tank needs to be properly cleaned first :)
