What to do?

Well earlyer i purchased a new vivarium for my corn snake and for about half an hour earlyer he was just laying in the corner but then he was quite hyper...
I was thinking of not handling him for a couple of days so that he can get fully used to his enviroment...
And by the way the temperature in his vivarium is around 80 degrees fahrenheit-i think i spelled that wrong im not sure- is this OK or not because my last vivarium had no thermometer inside it and this one does?

What is the temp on the warm side, and on the cool side?

I think probably he was just "frozen" when he moved in, and when he determined there was no danger, he went exploring. I don't see any reason not to handle him, as long as he's not a new snake for you.

How are you getting your temps? What you really need is a thermometer with a prob that is under the substrate right on the UTH(if that is what you are using). That truly is the only way to correctly regulate your temps.

Once you have accurate temps then you can leave it up to your snake to decide where he wants to stay. I have 4 snakes and each of them use different sides of the tank at different times. Most often they are on the cool side but sometimes they will wander to the warm side which is set at between 84-86. Hope this helps.

I have a couple of Corns that absolutely HATE "moving house". If I move them to a new viv, they hide for a couple of weeks and can go off their food.

If yours is showing signs of nerves, it might be best to treat him as though he was a new arrivle until he settles down. Basically, leave him alone for a week or so, keep handling to a minimum and only disturb him to spot clean or cahnge the water.

Once he figures out that his new home is just as safe as the old one - and better! - he'll be back to his old self. It just might take a couple of weeks.
