hi guys.
i thought it would be interesting to hear wer everyone keeps ther snakes in ther houses or flats.

I keep my little buddy upstairs in my bedroom. I live with my brother and mum and dad so if he was downstairs it would be quite noisy for him and the tele would be on a lot as well. i figured the peace and quiet of my room upstairs will do him good. i still chek on him a lot though and handle him everyday so he does get used to noise and people walking in and stuff.

would love to see everyones reply to this thread.

thanks a lot everyone.

I have two snakes in my bedroom, on my dresser- Addy and Zee. I have Maizey and soon Jake and Lila in the kitchen. Maizey and Jake's cages are on a counter between the kitchen and living room, so you can see them from both rooms. Choco and Inez are in the living room, right next to the TV in 20 longs on a wrought iron stand. They look very nice. And I have bought a 42" pretty black wooden table with two drawers, that is twelve inches wide, with a shelf underneath, for two more 20Ls. It'll go in the living room, too. All my vivs are pretty, so they look nice wherever they are, and the snakes don't seem to mind the noise/commotion of being in the kitchen/living room. They come out more to see what's going on! Oh, I have a 40 with two baby tortoises in the kitchen, also. And my two boxies are in a big pen outside.

My snake is going to live in my room on one of my dressers as well. I also live at home, but I wouldn't want my snake anywhere else anyway.

Where my dresser is it'll still get the necessary sunlight when I open the shades, but it won't be in direct sunlight :D

My snakes are upstairs in the bedroom, mainly to keep them seperate from the cats, who have the run of the downstairs. They seem quite happy there.

I have a large bedroom (19.5' by 10.5'), and all of my snakes are in it:

Thirteen 05s/06s are in a rack system
Two large adults are in 30 gal vivs, one on each side of the door
One 05 male is in a 20 long on an armoire
One female is in a 10 gal aquarium while I wait to see if her breeding took.
Two 06s are in a split 10 gallon on top of the rack because they are small for their age (one had to be force fed until recently)
Three 06s are in Sterlite shoeboxes because I just got them, one is being force fed and the other two are small enough to still be on small pinks and I want to monitor them closely for a while.

Does that add up to twenty-two? :)

Oh, and there are also two cats, one red-eared slider, one 5 gal aquarium with a betta and some small tropical fish, and three cockatiels in a cage hanging on the wall. Two budgies are in the living room, as they are free flighted (cage is kept open), so can't be where the cats are.

mine are in the livingroom. My ghost is in a 30g breeder tank on a metal stand in one corner, the 2 06' (well it was two, until hannah decided to vacate her tank) are in two temp 10g on another wall between the windows. There is one tank empty, a 15g sitting on the metal tank underneath my ghosts tank. Dont know if I'm gonna fill that yet or wait a bit. They get lots of daylight and they seem happy there. Plus its where the family spends most of its time too.

loving all the replys guys!

it seems like ther is a nice mix between the tanks being in the bedrrom and in the living room. id say about 50/50.

keep um coming everyone! would love to see some pics of everyones vivs. Also some pics taken from a bit further back would be nice so we can see wer abouts in the room the tank/tanks are situated.
:wavey:

I have thirty in my bedroom (two racks plus miscellaneous tubs here and there) and thirty in my living room (same arrangement; two racks plus...). :)

OMG you could open a zoo :grin01:

Oops forgot to answer the question, was off day dreaming about the day i own 60 snakelets lol

I have one in my room, my pc is in my room also. She wont come out her hide unless im totally silent for a few mins, then she sees me frantically typing and 'woooosh' gone again! So to summarise i think she is quite shy and might be a little traumatised in a high traffic area, although maybe she would get used to it!

Our one and only is in a 20L on a low bookcase in the living room. We were told that they don't usually mind activity but as we've only had Slithers for a couple of weeks, it's a little too soon to tell. In the last few days, he's started cruising around his cage every night after it gets dark outside (the lights are still on inside). I must admit that I've started looking around the house for other locations, "just in case" we ever want to add more vivs. I'd like to hear more about what other folks do for housing when they have more than a couple but less than a "zoo".

I've seen several racks holding three to five snakes that were built to resemble a barrister's bookcase. I would gladly give credit to the person who built this, but I have no idea where I found the pic. Needless to say, I didn't build or design it and am not taking credit:
