SMR SG Corn Snake "Rogue"
when i put rogue back into his normal viv he went to the cool side of the tank.

the viv on the cold side all the way at the bottom of the substrate says 78.

it's about 75 to 73 up top.

anyone have a clue why he would do this and not goto his normal hide on the left hand side?
 
Yes, I've seen this many times. Why? Perhaps, they're just trying to find the nearest possible place to hide...I don't know. I wouldn't sweat it unless you notice a regurge problem.
 
My cool sides are usually about 68-74 and my corns usually hide on the cool side even after eating. I've found they prefer cool temps most of the time and only occasionally go for a warm up.
 
Mine go to her hiding place after eat,,,
And what i heard from my friend, they usually go to their hole after they got their meals (in the wild), and Just My Opinion, their hole should be the cool side right?? :shrugs:

The fact is usually mine only comes out from her hiding if she is hungry :grin01:

I was just gonna start a thread askin a similar question. My baby <which i got yesterday> stays on the cool side. I only seen him on the warm side once and that was like for 5 mins. I was starting to get worried.

In my opinion, i think it's a normal behaviour, no need to worry i guess

Mine is almost always on the cool side. I don't worry about because he is choosing where he wants to go. If he was too cold then he would go to his warm side
