frozen mice / our food wont hurt US?

i need to know if the mice will cause us health problems. we have pizza and ice cream in the ice box with the mice which are in there own box.

Well, if the mice and the food are separate, then they shouldn't cause any problems. I just keep my mice in the freezer with our other frozen foods.

Agree with the above. I keep my mice in a separate tupperware box in the freezer, next to the ice cream and peas. No problems in 16 years. (Apart from the occasional grossed-out houseguest, who I forgot to warn :) )

Feeder mice bought from a reliable source will be raised in clean captive conditions and fed a controlled quality diet. They won't have the same potential for disease/pest problems that you'd expect in wild mice.

I agree.

It would probably be healthier to eat the mice than to eat the ice cream, lol! But I would much prefer the ice cream!

Had that happen to my dad! The mice bag somehow got into where the ice dispenses and he hit the button, and PRESTO a mouse bag came out and onto his cup.... WOOOPS! :crazy02:

There's no way frozen/thawed mice could be anywhere near as germy as frozen/thawed chicken.

the mice you are getting frozen should not be carrying any diseases so they shouldn't be any more a risk than frozen chicken or beef.

Regardless of what it is you have in your freezer, disease and bacteria cannot be transferred in a frozen state. Even if the parasites remain alive(which some do), they are frozen in a dormant state and cannot transfer from one frozen food to another. Just make sure your mice are in seperate baggis or packaging and it should be no problem...

FWIW--I'm a sinlge dad, so my freezer is chock full of TV dinners, frozen pizza, bread, meats and mice...
