Anubis Shed last nite.....

Hey all,
Will Anubis finally shed last nite. It was a complete sucess. Not a single scale left on him. And boy was he hungry afterwards. I had him out fer a few mins yesterday evening and he kept rubbing his head against my hand so I put him in the tub for a few mins and put him back in his tank. As soon as I put him back he started rubbing against stuff then he burrowed himself. So I figured he was quite ready. So in bout 40 mins later I peeked in to check on him and he had already shedded and was curled up in his warm hide. lol I missed it. I wanted to watch soooooooo bad to. But I was happy that he didnt' have any problems. After he shed I left him alone fer bout 2 hrs then fed him. And believe me, he didnt' hesitate to eat. lol Poor thing went 9 days without eating.

:-offtopic My wife is still afraid of Anubis so my 7 year old daughter was chasing her mom around the house with the skin and she was screamin like crazy. lol It was so funny.

Good news about a full shed. Always good to know that your husbandry is up to scratch! Poor wife!

Ok, so my prediction was off by one day- but I still think that's pretty good from all the way down here in Florida!

I've heard that if they are doing that rubbing on your hand thing, they can actually shed in your hand.

Glad to hear everything went well. Maybe your wife can practice hoding the shed to get herself desensitized to snakes!

Not a bad prediction at all nanci. lol I was gonna keep him in my hand to see if he would but I felt to bad for him. Didn't wanna stress him out so I put him bank in his tank. Even though when I goes to put him back he usually stretches out so i cant' put him back in. He lets me know if he wants to go back or not. lol I tried to get my wife to hold the shedded skin but she wouldn't even do that. It creeps her out to much. My daughter loves holdin him. She was a bit nervous at first but now she loves it.
