New Lil' Water Snake

Just kidding. She's an adorable BCI that my husband picked up this weekend at a pet expo (we were vendors). Someone came to buy a bird from us and had this precious little girl with them. They said they couldn't keep her, so we brought her home. I'm pretty sure this is just a temporary thing since we're not really set up for large snakes, but we're enjoying her anyway. I'd like to get a few good meals in her and then find her a good home. So far she spends most of her time in the water bowl. She even took a meal in the water. She eats like a champ. Vicious feeding response. She struck the pinky rat before I had time to blink. Exactly what I like to see in a new snake.

I'll try to get some ventrals tonight. She's a beauty! I love that little black tongue and upturned nose. :)

Absolutely adorable.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet you'll find room for her somewhere before it's time to give her up. ;)

I'm starting a betting pool on if she really finds a new home or not!

Let's see who I have that was "finding a new home:"

Milly the pigeon. I've had him four years.
Addy the Eastern Hoggy
Krusty the Florida Boxie

I guess that's not too many.

Well- she's looking good, whether you keep her or not! It shouldn't be hard to find her a home.

I'm pretty good at finding homes for critters. I'm the "crazy animal chick", so we're constantly getting animals dumped off on us. My hubby's a big softie and he makes these kinds of trades with people all the time. So far we've been really successful rehoming all kinds of rejects. If you've ever wanted an easy way to flush money down the toilet, try foster care. :grin01:

I raise and sell birds, so I've learned to do a pretty good job of maintaining a decent level of attachment.

My biggest snake-keeping regret was when I sold Sassy, a Surinam Red Tail Boa.

Despite her name (which was taken from jazz singer Sarah Vaughan, anyhow), she was an absolute sweetheart.

I'm sure you'll find a way to keep her. Congrats!

regards,
jazz

That should have said DETACHMENT, not attachment.

One of these days I'll become a contributing member...if only for the edit button.

She is absolutely adorable. I say keep her just so you can update us on her progress. She's gorgeous!
