How often does your Yearling shed?

oh snap it's been a bit since one of my noob topics so here's one.

When corns are young I thought they were supposed to shed quite often. But I've had Nagini for a month and she has no sign of colors fading or her eyes going blue, when on earth is she gonna shed? :shrugs:

she could have shed right b4 u got her...they usally go about 2 months inbetweeen sheds

When Connor was at the yearling stage he shed like clockwork once a month. He was so regular that I could actually predict down to within a day or two when he was going to be in blue. I noticed after a while as he grew that he slowed his sheds down, incidentally he was ready to go up a prey size by then. I bumped him up and recently he's taken off shedding again, he just shed twice in 7/8 weeks. What I'm trying to say is, snakes won't always follow an exact pattern - they shed when they need to and if your snake seems otherwise healthy then no worries.

I got my corn on 1/27/07. She shed on 2/15, and was on single pinks from when I got her to 2/22. I probably could have went to doubles earlier, or even from when I got her. The next feeds were double pinks and she shed sometime around 3/22. though I didn't record the exact date of this one. After 3/22, I upped her to fuzzies, and she shed on 4/26, 5/8, and most recent 5/31 or 6/1. I don't have the exact date of the most recent one because she was blue on 5/30 when I checked her before I went away for a few days. I came back 6/1, but didn't check her till the next morning, and the shed had taken place. From 1/27 to 4/26, she was fed weekly, except for the periods of the week including 2/8, she was not fed between 3/1-3/22,the week including 4/19, and the week including 5/2, because the class I was keeping her in was cancelled during those weeks. So, I could not get in to feed her. And notably, her longest periods between sheds (35 days) were the ones during which she went longest between feeds. As I calculated, the current average of time between sheds is 26.25 days, and the shortest interval was 12 days.
I think now that she is at home, with a shorter time between feeds, more regular feeds, and I need to bump the prey size slightly if I can find it or give her more, that the average could go down.
Corny Noob, how big is Nagini, and what's her current prey size? Callie O'Malley was 33g as of 6/1, and is on what the Munson Plan calls small fuzzies, as that is all I am able to get right now from Petco.

My yearlings are all between 50-75g and they shed every 3 weeks to a month.

I have one very skinny '05 (170g) and she hasn't shed in the month that I've had her. She was so underweight when I got her that I doubt she'll shed for at least another month. She's gained 30+ grams so far, but she still has a long way to go before she outgrows her current skin.

I think growth has peaks, valleys, and plateaus. They might grow very quickly some months and very slowly other months, so the shed cycle changes too.

I wouldn't worry about it. Also...have you run your fingers through the substrate and in the hides? Sometimes mine go blue for such a short period of time that I completely miss the shed and I don't find the skin until I dump the substrate.

Well due to her recent regurg issues she's on newspaper. And when I took her out to feed her yesterday I changed it
I would figure due to her small size though she would be shedding more often. She's only 29 grams and is currently eatting 7 grams worth of food however I can combine it. Last night was a fuzzy and a pinky.

I've had Tootse since middle of March, and she's shed twice - the second time was just last week.

So, that's...two in two and a half months. I try not to worry about it too much. I feed her according to the Munson plan, so I guess she'll shed when she sheds, hehe.
