Tv program that will...

...cause argument with millions.

Tonight, on channel 4 was the Diana documentary, showing new pictures, and exclusive interviews with the press that took pictures of Diana Princess of wales moments after she had a major car crash,

I'm sure most of you have heard of her, I remember everyone being really upset on the next day, I also remember waking up, putting the TV on, and seeing the news flash, I myself did not really understand however as I have grown up I have always been interested, Princess Diana's son's did write to channel 4 asking them not to show the documentary, however they still did so, I would just like to know your opinions on the whole thing, do you think that this will open peoples eyes a bit more to the whole story, or maybe even make people go against the press, me wanting to be a photography when I grow up, the whole issue with the millions of people blaming the press makes me a bit worried because more and more pictures are taken of celebrity's and royalty both at there best and worst, will there be another time in the future that the press are at the wrong place at the wrong time, and cause more problems for future photographers and reporters?

I'm really not too effected by this whole stories, although I know some people are and I just would be interested in reading peoples opinions and thoughts.

P.S, I have tried to write this in the nicest way I can, I don't want to upset anyone, and some of you do remind me on threads like this that this is a corn snake forum, witch of course I'm aware of, but I also know that you are all people and you all have opinions, I'm just really interested in this whole subject..

I got married the same year as Princess Diana. At the time, it was wonderous to believe it was a fairytale marriage, not the sham it turned out to be. If Prince Charles hadn't been such a spineless wussy-with-a-p, he would have stood up to his mother, England, tradition and what not and married the woman he loved.

Still, the world came to love Diana because of what she did and what she stood for. She tried to do good- she truly cared about people. I believe the paparazzi were instruments of her death, but it was the public as a whole and their insatiable thirst for every single personal, intimate detail that were responsible. If there wasn't a multi-million market for the next greatest photo of her, just trying to live her life, then photographers wouldn't be hounding her every second of every day and night, and her and Dodi Al Fayed's drivers/bodyguards would be able to guard them in a safe manner.

I'd have liked to see the documentary. I really enjoyed the film "The Queen" which I saw earlier this year, which deals with the difference in how the Queen wanted to handle the death, and how Tony Blair advised her to handle it.

Hey Nanci, yea from what I have read she was a good person, and become very popular, I also have watched the film (the queen) I think it makes our queen look very unhappy to actually be queen, she always seems to like being away, on her own, away from body guards, on the film anyways.

This might be an interesting watch, I might get flamed for this but there are 2 big stories that hit the world in the last 10 years that made everyone very sad. Diana being killed and the 9/11 Twin Tower incident in New York.

I imagine George's memories of that day/time must be similar to what I remember about President Kennedy's assaassination when I was five. I remember all the hoop-de-doo, and the funeral and all- the images are burned into my brain, probably due to my mother's reaction- but I didn't have any idea who President Kennedy was.

Personally, I could care less about the royal family (or any similar figure-head type). I know I'd HATE having part of my honest day's pay going to provide for an on-going family lineage just because of some past, outdated and now meaningless status. It's bad enough knowing how much of my pay is going to politicians, but at least they technically have a job. No offense meant, I just get sick of the royal family. Especially considering I live in a country that was created to get away from them. Never have and never will understand the fascination here in America :shrugs:. If you really want to help the starving and make the world a better place, give up some of the millions that you spend on spoiling yourself. Not saying she didn't do any good, but keep some perspective on the overall picture.

Duff, as one who's paypacket is raided to keep the royals in luxury, I totally agree. They have more than enough public money already invested to never have to work, so I resent them living off normal people's backs

I was 13 when John Kennedy was killed and I cried. I though that he would be able to make the messed up world I was living in better.

I cried tears of joy watching the wedding of Charles and Dianna because it had such a fairy-tale look about it and I cried tears of sadness when Dianna died. She seemed such a strong gentle person and left two young boys behind.

I was truly devasted when 9-11 happened. I was born and raise in NYC, my son worked two blocks from the World Trade Center and I am Muslim.

I truly believe that the press/media should stop harrassing Dianna and let her rest in peace; but, (I think the quote goes), heavy is the head that bears the crown. This also goes for the Queen. She is at an age where she would like to pass the crown to the next generation, it will not be to Charles, but to one of his sons. So she has to wait until they are ready.

This is my thoughts on this.

Two quick thoughts neither of which will be popular but, my thoughts.

If the bodyguard/chauffeur hadn't knocked back a few, the Princess may be alive today.

I'm not talking about Princess Di or anyone in particular but I feel those who choose a lifestyle in the limelight must be prepared to accept everything that comes along with it. Or...
Celebrities don't mind a photographer around when they donate a few thousand (of their millions) to a charity; so they must accept the consequences of a photographer around when they are drunk, hepped up on goofballs, or even just enjoying a picnic.

This is true; but, a lot of people let Dianna down and I put Charles on the top of my list.
