So I fell in love with a Cali King.

Proud Momma
The other day at work I was helping these two guys for like an hour, the ended up going home with my favorite snow corn, but while we were checking out all the other snakes they wanted to see our king snake which I personally have never seen anything but like two inches of due to him always hiding.
Considering he has NEVER been handled in our store aside from taking him from his pillow case when we arrived he's a freaking sweet heart! The guy said he was ugly, so I told him "Ok so don't buy him then and I will! :flames: "

Yesterday I had him out for about two hours while working (really slow on fathers day) At one point he just sorta curled up in my hand and burrowed, eventually he found my pocket and decided that it was his favorite place. But he's soooo well behaved and let a lot of children touch him yesterday.

And well of course...I'm in love.
How worth it is it to sneak another snake into my home? :grin01:
We're selling him for $80.99 but with my discount I'd get him for $64.80. We have him labeled as a banding cali king but his bands are so freaking thick that he barely has white on him, but he appears to have red tinting in some of his saddles and I think he's just gorgeous.

Like you, I fell in love with my second snake when I was working in a reptile shop and like you, I was offered a discount to get him. I bought him without hesitation and I love him to pieces. If you want the king, and your family are okay with it, I say buy it. Sometimes certain animals just "feel right." :)

How could you not love a Cali King??? I say get him!!

I just can't believe that after no handling he tolerated being held for so long, such a sweet disposition.

Choco would stay out for as long as I wanted- hours!! He never gets tired of being out. He begs to come out every day! I think Calis are super-sweet.

Well considering the other night one of the baby corns tinkled all over me I was expecting at least some resistance from him.
I'm in negotiation talks with my bf to let him live at his house with the promise that all he'll have to do is give him clean water.

I say go for it! Not that snakes and cats are alike but... when I got my cat I was at work (for a veterinary hospital) and it was kitten season, so I had seen TONS of other kittens come through... and then I saw Luke. And I knew he was mine. Its the oddest sensation. So after much begging with my mother (she loves cats, but I am actually VERY allergic and have to get shots and take meds) I brought him home. And I couldn't be happier!
So if it feels perfect, don't ignore it!

Sounds like a sweet natured desert phase cali - what we have here. Definitely a keeper if he's as sweet as you say he is. A calm cali is worth 10 corns IMO, and they make great garbage disposals when it comes to refused meals from other snakes!
