After waiting a lifetime for someone to invent a tiny, remote-control helicopter, my day finally came. Toys 'R Us is selling these. It's made by Air Hogs. It's the length of a pencil and it's got a tail prop that actually functions. It flies for about 5 minutes per charge. It doesn't really go where you want it to, but you can aim it and try to telepathically "will" it to go a certain direction. Making it go up and down and hover is easy once you get the hang of it, except for when the air conditioning kicks on. Then it's all over.

Crashing is fun too. Touching the prop to a wall usually sends it careening in another direction only to hit the floor flopping like a fish. I haven't broken it yet, but it does have a bit of a wobble to it now.

They also make a little airplane. I cant wait to get my hands on that.

I know it looks like it's hanging from a string in this pic. It's because I used the flash. You can see the props turning in the mirror.

I've been seriously considering getting a couple of those. I think the cats and dogs would LOVE them :grin01:

The only problem with those little helis is you will eventually want to get something better and that you have more control over. I have this helicopter, mini heli after starting with a simple one. I love it. And you can fly it in the house

Is that the one with the styrofoam nose?
Those things are AWESOME!! My brother in law got one and we played with it so much we had to get 3 more. Now ONE of them always has a charge. Once you trim them out it's great fun. We can land them on each others open hands.
Later we thought we liked them so much we bought a big one. Just not the same. We still play with the little ones. Plus you can fly em indoors and we get to buzz my sister with 'em! :grin01:

Those do look like tons of fun, but I don't think I could get myself to buy something so expensive that I would probably distroy in a few hours. :p

I had one of these bought for me for my birthday, they can put up with a surprising amount of 'bad-landings'. And even comes with a spare prop for the tail. Unfortunately, both of them broke, so it's been rendered useless :(

Though it was fun, I probably won't be buying another. :p

Yeah, that's why we have extras. One is strictly for parts now. I have found they are pretty hard to break though..
I've heard they are cheaper from some Japanese website, though I have never actually bought them myself..

My brother has an Air Hogs airplane. It's amazingly fun, and they control really well outside if you can cope with wind. I love diving and then swooping at the gothy kids that are always sulking about a few houses away from me.
