DEM hey dude, guess what?? You were right our Little Dani had his first shed at home.....After I spoke to you in the chat re: his not eating, 2 days later he ate I left him alone for the 48hrs & went in last night & he looked BIGGER & BRIGHTER!! he he!! so happy, then I saw a little piece of old scale on him & then it hit me...HE HAD SHEDDED!!! Boohoo, so I went hunting, he had shed in 3 layers, first his head (everything was there) then another part I found, & then the tail part. Not sure when he did it, since I did not Ch on him for those two days. SO I should had listen to you & stuck him in the bowl to shed. Would that have helped him shed all one piece??
Anyway, I offered him another f/t/p & he went for it. So now he is sleeping & digesting his food. I was such a proud Momma. And the kids were so thrilled to see & feel the skin. Such a wonderful experience!!
Hey, that's great! I'm glad it all worked out for Dani and you
I know you said the the tail section looked complete and I would just double check that again to make sure the tiny tip of the tail shed also came off because if it didn't, and it's sometimes hard to see when the snakes are small like that, it can dry up and constrict the tail tip which ultimately deadens the tip and it will dry up and will either look deformed or just drop off and then you'll get a stumpy tailed snake But it sounds like everything was ok, so that's good!
Just remember that next time you see Dani blue eyed again, prep him for his next shed with a wet hide and hopefully you'll get a completely intact shed to share with the kids
Feel free to shoot me a private message if I can be off help, sometimes I don't always see the messages in the forums as they tend to get bumped down from time to time :wavey:
Cool I will do that..I also chked out your myspace...I've had one too for about 3mths now, just a group of women & a couple of the hubbies I met on a parenting board when I had my 18mth old. Now I'm addicted to it
Anyway I am working on my signature right now since I learned the secret codes here. lol
I will chk little Dani's tail tomorrow as I read up on that in a book last night. I went & got him some fresh pinkies today & I asked the guy to give them to me frozen (like toss them into the freezer like the last guy did) well he gave them to me still ALIVE!! Wiggling in the bag!! WTF!! I was SO hrtbroken!! MY DH had a talk w/ me about the circle of life thing, but now I feel really horrible 'I' killed them :-(
OH well sorry about that...baby 'anything' gets to me.
