My new "toy"

Velvet

Totally corn crazy!!!!
Well, I FINALLY got my digital scales and I can finally weigh my snakes! lol It is an early Bday pressie! :spinner:

So of course I HAD to test it out and weigh all the snakes! lol And this is what I discovered...from lightest to heaviest...

5g - Raphael, Jan 2007, Fluorescent Red Amel, Had such hassles with this little boy and regurging etc etc, he is only on the road to recovery now but is doing much better and slowly picking up weight!
8g - Streaky, Feb 2007, Striped Amel, She's always been a little girl, I am surprised she is not heavier, she is sturdy and eats like a pig! lol Super Feeding response!
15g - Chopstick, Feb 2007, Caramel (het Hypo), Fat little piglet! lol Eats like a total pig! lol
16g - Donna, Jan 2007, Fluorescent Red RO. She is Raphael's clutch mate...to give you an idea of how big he should be...
18g - Rhett, Jan 2007, Butter. He's always been very big for his age though! Growing so well and is becoming a champion constrictor!

89g - Battle, Jan 2006 ,Pastel anery motley, always been a great feeder! This boy eats ANYTHING! lol Rats, mice, you name it! Bless him! lol
256g - Cornflake, Jan 2005, Normal with unknown hets. My monster! lol Despite being and INCREDIBLY fussy eater he has grown to quite a decent size and is still growing! lol

YAY! lol So it's onto the Munson plan for the lot of them! lol I am very proud of myself, because despite not knowing their weights, I have put the bigger little guys onto two pinks a meal at exactly the right time! lol

Wow, you've got a bunch of tiny ones!! My smallest, Lila, is now 53 grams, and Inez, who used to be called Devil Worm, had to change her name to Pork Chop now that she's closing in on 100g. I love my scale- I use it practically every day for something.

Nanci

Yep! I got 5 hatchlings this year! lol

Was meant to get an amber and a snow motley or an amel stripe. No ambers hatched so I was given the butter and the caramel as "compensation", the two fl.reds were gifts from the breeder and the little amel stripe was just too gorgeous to resist! lol

I am worried about the one little guy being so tiny though...poor chap! He regurged like 3-4 times in a row! (Despite me giving him "breaks" after regurges etc etc) I didn't think he would make it at a stage, he's not out of the woods yet but has held down about 5 meals now without any problems so hoping he's over the worst of it now...

Scale

Hey Velvet, where did you get the Digital scale from and what was the price.
I really want to weigh Big Bertha who I think is close to 900gr.

Ciao

Got it from Pick N Pay Hypermarket. It was R200. I know that Clicks and Game also have them for around the same price, though I am sure you can get more expensive ones elsewhere...I like mine because it goes up by 1g...others go up in 2g intervals.

900g is ALOT! lol I think she needs to go on a diet if she weighs that much! lol

I can definitely sympathize with you about that. At least my regurger is an adult with a little body mass to spare.

Thanks Nanci! Hope yours comes right too! I had to feed my little guy pinkie heads at a stage, just to get something in him and for him to keep something down!
