No longer a Noobie!
Just a quick post to see what type of plants you all prefer for your snakes? Real or plastic? Where do you buy them from? Any particular type?

I opt for plastic ones. The reason…the convenience they provide.

In order to have real ones in your enclosure you’ll need a bio-active substrate. And while there are many keepers out there successfully using a bio-active substrate, that’s just not something I’m really interested in.

I would recommend the book “The Art of Keeping Snakes” by Philippe De Vosjoli. It is an excellent book on this subject.

Regards,
Steve

I use real for my ATB, but I would suggest using fake just becuase they're easier to maintain and clean. The easiest and cheapest place to buy them is something like a Hobby Lobby. They have a huge selection and they're fairly inexpensive. They also go on sale a lot. Just make sure that after you get them you sterilize them in some fashion. I prefer boiling mine. Anyways....good luck with whatever you decide to do. Both ways are visually appealing and make snake keeping that much more fun :)
