pinky leftovers...

DragonBoy

Crazy Cornsnake Breeder
This is off topic slightly, but it was comical how it turned out.
I was feeding a bunch of new babies that arrivied earlier in the week along with some I have had hoping to get all the 55 onto the same feeding cycle. I ended up with 7 that did not eat which I could accept. Being the frugal one that I am hated to throw them out.
We have an adult pair of Red-ear sliders and a yearling slider who have always eaten prepared pellets. I gave them goldfish one and needless to say we now have a goldfish tank with assorted comets the turtles refused to eat. My partner said no way but hated to simply throw away 7 pinkies.I went to the turtle tank and dropped one in front of the female which scared the bloody heck out of her. However the male promptly left their island to see what I was throwing in the water. On discovery he went scarfing it down like he had not eaten in months aside from the fact they had their pellets and then some 8 hours ago. He ended up taking them out of my hand one at a time and scarffed all 7 himself. The female wanted nothing to do with it and the baby was the same way as her mother.
Now I have a place should I have leftovers. Puts on hold the idea of a Savannah Monitor/garbage disposal unit I had in mind.
It was a fun afternoon--Peace ya'all
Scott
