Last year, when I first brought my snake into my classroom to live, one of my 2nd graders brought in a toilet paper tube with yarn through it & he said I was to put it in TicTac (Fritz)'s tank; I asked him what it was for...he said, "It's a swing." I died! I hung it in the tree next to Fritz's tank, and then it hit me: this could really work! I loop a long piece of string through the tube, tape the knot on the outside of the tank & flip the tube with the rest of the string inside the tank. Three of my snakes have "swings" and love them...:)

Every so often, with this way of doing it, the tube needs to be straightened out again...:)

that is just too neat. Snake swings!!! i'm gonna have to keep my eyes out for some good "tubes" to make some swings. That is just a great idea! Thanks for sharing!

when i go to home depot i go to their carpet department and see if they have the small rolls empty (the big ones they reuse)

I did this with 3 tubes when I first got my snake. He rarely ever came down from them, unless he was trying to climb on top of them and slid off.
