I am going to be honest, in a constructive critical way. I don't like the picture. It looks like awful under exposed photography.
Perhaps work on colour, contrast and composition (the three C's) instead of just dulling down the exposure. Heres examples of a fairly simple play on colour, and working with layers and contrast.

and most threads die if you make a lot of them, I generally make about 1 or 2 a week when I get an idea or a topic I want to discuss..
if you sit there thinking of lots of threads to make, they will die.. if you let the idea come to you, it may be a successful thread you make
